Hi Milen,

Why did you use a solderless method? I think that it is kind of cool and would make substitution of parts really easy, but curious about your reasons.


After trying a lot of different solder wires, all of them sounding different... decided to try it this way. It was the best of all solder wires.

Many people has tried it in simple constructions, like interconnects or speaker filters... and said, that it's better than soldering it. Soldering is only reliable, nothing more. Last amp, made in this way, after year of using I have checked all the connections - all was OK.

In Bulgaria they believe in magic, like no FB, no capacitors, no solder, etc...


It's really magic to listen to amp with no FB, no capacitors and no solder :)

My PCL86 SE mono block

Hey guys, i had build a new one of a kind amplifier, it is builded with a PCL86 single ended, and encased in a nice Danish Cookies metal box, i had made for it a speaker cabinet in a different type of same Danish Cookies. here come the images, ahh, the amp is made on pcb.

Milen, maybe you should start a thread on the no solder thing?

Seems to me that thermoelectric effects will be far greater using this method but hey I'm open to some interesting discussion.

...and one more for "no feedback". To explain that "no feedback" is not always good. Like, no feedback in my "One more 4P1L SE" is one thing, while class AB pentode amp with no feedback is a completely different story. Also, no intentional feedback does not mean that screen grids of preamp tubes tied together with screen grids of output tubes to power from the same VR would not create a nasty FB, as well as long output transformer wire going all the way near input tubes create a nasty positive feedback that instead of "smooth no-feedback clipping" causes nasty clipping with HF oscillations...
 
My Bi-Amp Monoblock

Finally finished my 2 Bi-Amp Monoblocks, with quite some technical support from some good people in this forum - thanks once again.

Monoblocks with two sections, 6SQ7 (voltage amp) - 6SN7 LTP Splitter - 2pair 6V6 push pull output stage. russian capacitors for decoupling jobs.

PSU: 5U4G, CLCLC 60uF - 6 Henry - 100uF - 16Henry -60uF per section

Signal fed by Parasound P/FET-900 preamp mono to each Monoblock and there divided to the two sections.

Simple hammond housing.

Yes, it is my first build, just realized how difficult it can be to get something running with only such a small amount of parts... I expected it to be easier.
Next time i would probably use an existing schematic for the start.
But it works, lets see what comes next.
Still have a bunch of tubes and stuff.
 
6P7S PP amplifier (807 octal variant), fixed bias, no NFB, ECC81 splitter inspired by Menno van der Veen.
