Wow!

Looks very nice!

How quiet are 6N9S? What kind of input transformers do you use?

Man, we have some common interessts (spelling?), I'm also quite much into these old ships. (Pro ship repairs) But now I have this old house of mine (late 1800) where I try to fit audio stuff that match the origin of the house. Tube amps are allright but I have to make my big speakers look like something else, or at least, something really old. That's my challenge. And, the sound has to be top noch as well...'

Any way, merry christmas everyone!

Schematic for 1 channel:

Air power,

Very impressive! I wonder how much trouble you have with some 6C19 output triodes running too hot an others too cold since I see no automatic bias equalization scheme such as larger value cathode resistors under each cathode for example. I am trying to get started on a OTL amp using 18, 6080's per monobloc (36 triodes) and with that tube I absolutely have to include some individual cathode self bias on each triode over and above the master negative grid bias bus. Of course this compromises the desired low tube plate R.

RS 329g Telefunken

Hi guys!
I found this tube a while ago, thought it needs to become an amp.
It's huge! The heater needs 24V @ 16Amps
It lights up bright white!!
With my 400V transformer from the junk box I get almost 6 Watts out of it!
The driver is a 6EM7 wired as a cathode follower.
The RS329 is biased at 30V (because my power supply doesn't go higher)
I've ordered a new trasformer to run it at 700V or so.
Should be good for 15 Watts or so.
The output transformer is a Hammond.
I'll post the diagram tomorrow, first some listening to do.

Oh, wow! 6 Watts from what? is that 24v @ 1.6 Amps or 16 Amps to the heater?? ... I'll bet it sounds great and you get a nice white reading lamp to boot! Too cool: :D
