i have the nex XTZ passive 99w12.18 P subwoofer
it uses the peerless xxls12 aluminium woofer, model 835017
http://www.tymphany.com/datasheet/printview.php?id=465
there are 2 tubes in it , about 65 liters internal volume
the first tube is about 24 cm, the 2nd is a bit longer
i will open up this subwoofer to tune it in the best way
the subwoofer will be used for stereo and i am using the XTZ
subamp 1 with DSP
which off the 2 tubes will give the best results ?

Hi Ralf,
IMO, I would close both ports. If you put a Peerless 835017 in a 65 L box you are normally up to designing a closed box and not a BR.
If one of the port (4”) is closed the other would be about 32” (81.3 cm) and too long for a good passive design( See the submitted pictures).
Why not DIY a T_TQWT that uses the full potential of the driver?

Old thread, but at the moment I have 2 off these xtz subwoofers.
XTZ has a 500 watt Ice class D amp put on the market and the active version
is called 99w12.18 Ice
So much better using 2 subwoofers instead off a single subwoofer.
DSP is managed with a Antimode 8033 C.
I am considering a 3rd subwoofer.
