Yeah, very weird, some parts can only be ordered as samples but if want to place a paid order, nowhere.....

Same here. I have two designs waiting. One uses the PCM1792, the other use the PCM1704. Looks like the 1792 either hasn't had any wafers run or is being shipped to favored manufacturers only. luckily the 1704 design should keep me busy. It is has the I/V converter on a daughterboard for excessive experimentation
Has anyone used the PCM2702? It has reasonable specifications and requires almost no external parts and no software. I'm integrating one into my Aleph headphone amp, but I don't know how it might sound.
