Just brought a PCA2000D and installed it and everytime I turn the car over or turn it off it makes a loud popping noise through the subwoofer. Anyone know what it could be? any help appreciated
I just pulled out my Rubicon 1000-2 and it worked just fine

Haven't tried that yet but it pops about 4-5sec after I turn the key on and 4-5sec after I turn the engine off. Also if I turn the volume up too loud it cuts right off and doesn't recover until I turn the engine of than back on again
Nah it doesn't, is that a good thing or not? I'm sorry for being so clueless but that is why I am here to try and gain more knowledge and all the help I can get would be greatly appreciatedIf you have the amp on and remove the remote voltage at the amp, does it pop?
You need to use a multimeter to see if the remote output from the head unit is working as it should. It should go to 12v when the head unit is switched on and go to 0v when the head unit is switched off. There should be very little delay (fraction of a second) between the time the head unit is switched on/off and the remote responds.
I'm using the stock headunit in my car and running a line out converter. I need to mention that I had my other amp running perfectly in it before installing this one but not sure if I wired it all up the same
From the Line Out Converter? it's daisy chained/piggy backed off my rears so I assume that's what turns it on and off
Not exclusively it's switches on and off even if I open the boot/trunk of my car and I can sometimes even hear the amp turning on when I open my car door, it's a strange one
If the converter uses signal sensing, it could be the speaker movement when you open/close doors.
I think you'll have to find a better source for the turn-on. That's likely going to require that you run a wire to the front of the vehicle.

So maybe I could connect the remote wire to a fuse in my fusebox? because getting to the back of my stock HU is a mission. Now if this helps eliminate the popping that'll be cool but now I'm having another problem, it sounds like my subwoofer is not getting full power and I think it's going into protection because it just cuts out fully and even turning the HU off than back on again doesn't help
It's quite frustrating because the Rubicon 1000-2 I had in my car worked perfectly fine but I wanted a bit more power from a 1kW amp to a 1.5kW@2ohm amp and it's doing my head in. I wish I could use all 2kW@1ohm but dude that sold me my DD 9510 told me it was dual 1.3ohm
Thankyou for all your help thou it's very appreciated

I hope not, I'm not sure if it is going into protection or I'm clipping it. I only turn my volume on my HU up to 3/4 which is 24/32 and the gains are 2/3 but as soon as I turn the volume up to 25 or 26 it cuts out
That could be a voltage problem. Check the voltage directly across the B+ and ground terminals of the amp when it starts to shut down. If the voltage is dropping but the battery voltage is not, check your connections and fuses.
It's 12:30am here so I'll try tomorrow but would using bigger cable help? because I've got 1ga from my car battery to a monoblock but than 4ga from the monoblock to the amp and than 4ga grounds and power cable
You have to determine if there is a voltage drop problem before you can decide whether the wire is large enough.
