parallel voltage regulators to increase current?

you can attach a pass transistor like the above mentioned...it's in the datasheet...to combat the lower voltage...get a small diode and fix it between the gnd pin of the regulator and the gnd of your circuit...would then raise the output slightly and therefore get 12V out again...

Just to keep our focus on the original question: it is almost certain that these pedals have their own internal regulator (thus the range of 9-15v DC). So, anything with a bridge and a cap will do, with a zener-stabilized emitter follower if you want to get fancy. No need for sophisticated regulation....

Old thread, but if someone is still interested, there is an easy way of paralleling 78xx's using 1n4004's to decouple from one another, and a common 1n4004 to cancel the diode-drop. It appeared in an old EDN issue:
