Modulation causes sidebands, which are harmonic nodes. In AM broadcast (and in acoustics) you have one primary and two secondary nodes that are sufficient in amplitude which allows multiple use with a single broadcast carrier. So we have CW and single sideband, upper or lower. These are not the only ones, which indicates that if the carrier of such a device will create lower sidebands which if high enough in amplitude will cause issue with the hearing range of animals.

One of the reasons FM broadcast stereo is so limited in dynamic range is due to these sidebands. If we were to allow full content dynamic range the channel spacings between stations would be a min of ten time greater, thus wasting alot of the band, but also creates an infinite number of these side bands causing interference from adjacent stations. The greater the range the worse the problem
