Since you live in the USA you should consider this $65 driver.
With freight four of these should run you about $300.
A pair per side will displace more air than most $400 pro sound 18" drivers, and as a solid 4R load they are a good match for the kind of amplifiers you should be looking at (I would look at the Tapco J1400).
Read this thread to get an idea of what the boxes should look like (anything is OK if the net volume and port size are correct), you could make them a bit smaller (and give up some of that lovely bass).
