NIGC Buffer

I’d say everything that sits between the inverting input and ground is the part of the feedback. The input resistor is not supposed only to set the input current, it is assumed that there is a ground at the other side of it. Otherwise there is a problem with (noise) gain.

Consequently, the circuit below is nothing, even if you assume the input is fed by defined signal current.


An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.


Note that the reason why this works in the DAC I/V converters is that the DACs have finite output impedance.

NI with a good buffer is better than without it, but still I prefer buffer+inverting.



Yepp; buffer+inverting is the ticket ;)

Also, try running it balanced from a good pre. Much like the best of both worlds..

Personally I still prefer B+I though.
