Let's say you have an amp, and it delivers 50W into 4 ohm speakers. What would happen if you hooked up 8 ohm speakers to it? It would deliver about 25W, correct? So, less volume? What else? Will it run hotter/cooler?
What if you had a amp designed for 8 ohm speakers and you hooked up 4 ohm speakers to it? Could it potentially overheat since its delivering more power?
All else being equal, are low-impedance speakers generally better?
Thanks
