Its too bad many companies are like that nowadays and it doesn't only apply to audio at all. I'm the kind of guy that believes in the handshake and a persons word, and for the most part a person used to be able to count on that, not anymore so much. You takes your chances going ol' school with people and companies you don't know etc..

If you go have a look at Eminence's published FR plot for the Alpha 15, it's hard to understand the 97dB sensitivity claim. Unless, of course, you add in that huge peak at about 2K.
From their own Thiele-Small parameters, the Alpha should be around 92-93 dB/Watt
The plot shows about 93-94dB thru the usable range.

Eminence does a better job than many speaker manufacturers in presenting graphs and other data for users. It always pays to study SPL vs. frequency graphs to discern the values over the range in which you play to use the driver. A single SPL number usually isn't enough.

Quite correct! Just look at the graph for a good idea of SPL in the range you are working in.
