ok, i was reading some stuff about using a transformer as the volume control, or even a regular nickel transformer connected to a 10K volume control...
problem is with input impedance of this circuit is very low for a source component and output impedance very high for the inputs of power amps etc..
so why not put a BJT or MOSFET buffer circuit at either front end or after step-up tranny or both??
common emitter or source follower setup?
maybe even power these of 12v SLA batteries.
problem is the transformer I want to use is made out of nickel and I don't want to use coupling caps if I can help it.
so ideas?
The nickel transformer i have seen is a 150:10K.
Should I just buffer the input so that I can drop my volume control to say a 1K?
Then how do I connect a nickel transformer that doesn't like DC to a mosfet or BJT?
Thanks!!
