Since we can't hear 10Hz, why not add 10Hz to the signal, developing a few watts at the output, then the crossover region is only breached by the music signal a few times a second at low powers. Oh, that's why LPs sounded great, all that rumble:)

This seems like an interesting idea.

I'm thinking that it will matter what the relationship between the "music signal" (HP) and the "zero crossing signal" (LP) will be as far as amplitude and timing WRT where the HP happens to be in instantaneous amplitude.

Otoh, if the HP is always lower than the LP then that might work ok.

Sort of a bizzare IM test?

I'm thinking square waves, or maybe triangle? :D
