OMS-7AII laser

Hey guys, I have a 7AII puchased new in 1984.
Been fine until last month. Now it 'kicks' the disk during powerup,
but not when inserted via the tray.
If this is a laser problem, what's the quickest, easiest way to prove it?
Power supply voltages are fine.

Drive belt question removal location OMS-5 Or OMS-7

Hi

I have the service manual for the OMS-5II CD player. I ordered new replacement Drawer belt.

Do you remove the bottom cover or the faceplate to gain access to replace the belt? [/B] I assume that the oms5/7 drive belt is located in same area?

Appreciate any help!
