Some test playing, the Volt-One not yet coneckted. Fine adjustment of bias, for now 80mA each transistor. Ca 36-38 celcius, reaching for 100mA later

Leikis, is there a difference in sound when using a (much) higher bias?

Havent don mutch testing on that, but it seems to be a little more open an spacius, like tye class A sound. The Holton L amps seems to like high bias
Hmmm maybe I should try it sometime on my 500r2's
I think the benefits with higher bias is bigger on the L boards, but maybie The Saint can answer that question better ?

It's true the L boards are the best option for the higher bias.
The R2 boards are only designed for the lower bias settings.
Cheers

Thanks Anthony, for now I'll have to do with the r2 boards I'm afraid unless somebody buys them so I can switch to the L boards
The L boards 500 and 800 was a big improvement in my system, espeacialy in the mid and high frequences. So you know where to put your savings
Please don't say things as "big" and "Improvement" in one sentence where I can read it
Okay its not big its huge !
