finally i got my oscilloscope. it is 20mhz. i think it should be ok for amp checking. i bought quite new in condition but used in electronics industries for four years. its looks working very good.
looks new too...

i attached the picture.

model is MATRIX MOS-620. i don't have any user manual. i also have to make two probes. how to make probe?

i am trying to post picture but can't upload.

thanks space2000
your scope will do better than mine
if it is okay & not defect

Here are some older models
there are many out there
See pictures of different scopes here
http://www.thevalvepage.com/testeq/scope.htm

This is my own.
got it for free
by a kind person in my town
he had it put away in some attic

now i can use it for my audio amplifiers
it is all tubes/valves oscilloscope
the preamplification is done by a number of low noise EF86 penthodes (not triodes)

hi mooly,

hmmmmmm now can do......lots...

it is full functioning well as they said to me. now i have seen btr to perchase a probe. the scope is 20mhz should be enough for checking amp right?

i need a signal generator circuit. which signal frq will be enough for testing amp?

i can make signal generator by using timer ic or if i can get timing delay for hrtz then i can write software for microchip to produce the freq as i need. i have to get freq data with timing delay first.

may be you can show me any signal generator circuit.

lineup, your scope is really nice. you r so lucky to get it free. those are good scope. how many mhz speed?

not know really thespeed
but i can do anything with high precision <= 2 MHz (2000000 Hz)

*** audio band is less than 20 - 20000 Hertz
at least for my ears.

* but i can not speak for those that can hear much more.
Like 200 kHz or even 2 MHz.

Those people are not many .. not on this planet, I can say.
and this is not one LIE .. it is one REAL TRUTH :D :D :D :D

Those stupid high frequency phreaks - they do know nothing of good real audio.

I would try and get a function generator -- sine/square/triangle etc usually with other features as well. If you just want a source of low distortion sine waves to begin with use a test CD.
A good function generator will cover from well below 1 Hz to at least 1 MHz, and some go much higher.

We stupid HF freaks design amplifiers not oscillators!!!

2 MHZ is very good to see your amp go into oscillation, high
freq. ringing w/ sqaure wave, etc. I use cheap PC scope w/
1MHZ and can see cap. load w/ square ringing at 100's of KHZ.
The more bandwidth the better.

As far as function generators,PC software based ones are
very good and getting better (True RTA) as long as your sound card is up to it. (192khz sample) There are many kits and
schematics that would provide very good if not superior
performance if you lust for true hardware.http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=220045&criteria=FUNTION&doy=23m8

You do?
... some times I am not so sure :D
there are a several of you designing Radio Frequency transmitters
and then call them audio power amplifiers.

Shame you can not admit this fact :(
Hope you do not trade your RF emitters & call them Audio amps.
Because would be not correct marketing ;)

Dear all,

I am now writing –C program for signal generating. I will be using microchip PIC16f876, I don’t need too high frequency so I can use this microchip for signal generator, I will post my signal generator after I complete it. I already have timing data in my hand.

My device will have few types of frequency signal.

pls advice me Which signal will be helpful for testing amp?

I can make few types of signal From 20htz to 20khz.

Thank you.
michael

square

1 kHz square (amplitude +-1, 2, 5 and +-10 Volt peak)
5 or 10 kHz square (amplitude same as above)

now, you run square to your input
and compare input/output signal
using your 2-channel scope

use dummy loads 4 / 8 Ohm power resistor
and try also with put one 1uF / 2.2uF capacitor
across that 4 / 8 Ohm dummy load
(this is called capactive load testing, with squarewaves)

that's it

* you have to learn how squarewave will look
when is different quality of the output signal
and what is the cause of those imperfections in the perfect square
