Ground return wires a bit thin for my taste, but otherwise excellent build (minus a couple of spring washers).

If you look at the circuit board of your F5 - there is no resistor where R6 is indicated.
Could you tell us the what is written on the black resistor right beside where R6 should be ?
And to be absolutely clear,
Your F5 worked great right up to the very moment when the Headroom pre was connected.
Is this correct ?
