Hi everyone,
I’ve just finished my latest project a sonosub, which I am totally happy about , but the amp remains warm when it is on standby. The amps a 350W from Jaycar and I would like to know if this is common, or should I be trying to get a replacement .
For those how would like to know am using a Peerless 12” XLS, two 100mm ports 670mm in length and the volume of the sonotube is 112L. I’ve been breaking the driver in over the past few days and will then play around with the port length a bit. And for a bit of extra weight to reduce vibrations the inner top and bottom have been lined with 20kg a lead. I’ve posted a few more pics on my web page (which is more of just a photo gallery).
Cheers

Hi Autoexec,
The tube is called Formatube (or Sonotube in the USA) and is used for casting concrete. The below link has heaps of examples,

As for a supplier the only place in Brisbane is Boral, but before I found that out I rang EVERYONE.
