In an overclocked computer, you need to remove a huge amount of heat from one small silicon chip. This high intensity of heat transfer is what makes water cooling necessary.

In audio amp design you have the option to spread the heat transfer over a larger surface area by using more output transistors in parallel. For the price of one of those Laing pumps you could get another 5 pairs of transistors.

Not sure the efficiency difference is that great as the pumps are not huge. There are certainly some interesting packaging options it allows, not least if you want to push a small die to the limit (whether you SHOULD want to is another discussion). from one point of view its just an active heatpipe, and plenty of amplifiers have used those. The problem is that you still need to get the heat into the air at some point, and passive radiators for water cooling systems are rare.

it's fun to think outside the box.
 
It seems like today's water cooling system is less expensive, more efficient and quieter than a few years ago's. CPU water cooler market is thousands of times larger than class A amplification market, and is improving in very fast pace, so this "mass technology" could be an affordable class A cooling option, at least in the future...

Nonsense, it is simple thermodynamics, which hasn't changed, since, well, the beginning of time, so you pick whatever works for you. Take note that watercooling is not 'better' than aircooling it all depends on the application and the requirements.

But you have to agree its a change from 19inch rack cases with big heatsinks on the side:)
 
I would hook a temp meter and water flow meter in the system, If I was to build this myself, also use duall pumps and duall supply to power pumps incase one pump fails

Not nesscarly because pcs have 300watts or even more heat comming out(if you mess arround with your pc like MR Overclock), or even gpus hooked up into it, much more heat than transitors, therefore pc's use much more radators which radators them selvs cost money
