So, a few sheets of Ultraperm 80 arrived yesterday and I notice that it's discolored. Not a big deal as it's used inside an enclosure, but it's still unattractive. It appears as a rust color film across ~ 30% of the surface.
Although the color appears embedded, I may just clean the surface for a coat of silver color paint. I wonder if anyone has experience cleaning mu metal.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I think mu-metal is best left as it is. Even bending it reduces its properties, so I can imagine that sanding the surface could disrupt things too.
I'll simply clean it with a degreaser and use it flat. Thanks.
