Anyone familiar with MTX electronic crossovers ?
My question is regarding the sub level.
I have the external bass control hooked up which works well. I notice the actual "output level" knob on the crossover itself doesnt make any difference when adjusting it..
Does the external sub level control over ride the output level knob ?
HERES A PIC OF WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT:

Setting gain on my amp... confused
Ok.. this is a bit confusuing, or the owners manual is wrong.
I'm using this Zapco z300c2 in mono, for my sub.
I wanna set the gain correctly, but the manual says to turn the headunit to minimum low level and set the gain all the way clockwise and then back off a bit till it clips ?? Isnt full clockwise full gain already ? Or is the manual wrong ? It should say 'full counter clockwise at first no ?
I was always told to set gain, you need to put the source unit 3/4 volume and turn clockwise and bring the gain pot up slowly ??
Heres what the manual says:
AMP: (only left gain control is used)

What's important is setting it to the point where it's not clipping. 50/75% isn't really important. For head units with a loudness contour, many people don't like going beyond ~50% because the bass starts to drop off (compared to the rest of the signal). This may be why they chose 50%.
