This R.Jahre company seems to be a very serious one.
Never heard before.
But,
is there any good technical purpose for plating a cap
with Gold ?
Where would be a source to get some of those.
Samples ?

I believe the golden one was an anniversary one. I am quite sure that there is no difference but golden. I would expect the 1µF very expensive. Gold or not.

You can call Jahre directly. They also selling it.

10nF is about 10€. 15nF is about 15€. Both 1%, 125V. Just to get an idea. So 1€ per nF.

killer expensive is exactly what i was afraid of.
This gold thingie is what they offer on their page.
On customers request.
Only for "beauty", or maybe for shielding purposes
out in space.....

There are also smaller values. like 100pf or 1nF and so on. And they are just a little sin. The sin for every day.

I am in contact with Jahre. As far as i know they where on the moon.
Also the Intonation tube preamp has them inside.
The designer, Herr Milde, is a good friend of mine since 1983. "Glasperlenspiel".

I can talk to them if they make some caps for the Paradise.

We can talk to WIMA. They are in Unna, 80km from my home. I would like FKP2 in 1% with copper or silver wires.

I once fried one channel of a DL103. Over night, one regulator burned in my phonoclone. It must have been some hours that the inputs were at 0.6V.
One Channel survived!

2 times my cascode BJT of the DC coupled input stage died well into hours when doing experiments paralleling more and more jfets underneath until it was heavy for it (below 75% dissipation spec still, but gave up the ghost). After much at Philips for killing carefully matched Toshibas downstairs, my DL103R was intact, 2 times. Jfets die gracefully indeed.
