Cal - there are certainly more venomous creatures in all phyla , but mosquitoes kill between 2-3 million humans every year. Those and ticks that bear Lyme borreliosis and the various co-infections should be at the top of the list of insects to be eradicated.

My daughter managed to get bitten a total of 7 times while on a hiking vacation in Sweden last year, and is now staring at a long painful recovery, with no guarantee of ever recovering back to her very active lifestyle.
