moOde - Has it been 10 years already?

This month, December 2023 marks 10 years since work began on the moOde audio player project.

Thanks to everyone for your dedication to moOde and for helping to improve and support this nice Free Open Source Software for the wonderful Raspberry Pi and DIY audio communities.

Consider making a donation to acknowledge a decade's worth of commitment to DIY audio and the enjoyment of music. It's a great way to show your appreciation!

Let's keep the coffee flowing and the project going :)

Enjoy the Music!

Congratulations on the Decade of Moode Tim, a few players that i have made for friends seemed like magic boxes to them.
One person calls it the love machine and says it changed their life. Well done to you for making technology appear like magic to some. Gotta go hit that donate button again.

Congrats on the 10 year mile stone!
Moode is my favourite player making my headphones sing (RPi Z2W, PEQ, Allo mini boss & JDS Labs Atom).
Please consider extending the PEQ with low and high shelf filters.

I have asked this before... is there a possibility to make a donation without using paypal?

A bit of feedback.

#1 When I click the "Register" link on this page https://moodeaudio.org/forum/index.php I get the following message:

"Sorry, but the Administrator has disabled self-registration at this time due to excessive amounts of Bot-SPAM. Please use the "Contact us" link at the bottom of this page to easily request a Forum account."

However, there is no "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page. Neither is there one on the main forum page.

#2 In the "Setup.txt" file, the INITIAL SETUP section states:

1. INITIAL SETUP

a) Insert boot SD card or USB drive
b) Connect USB or I2S audio device
c) Connect USB storage devices
- Ethernet mode
a) Insert ethernet cable
b) Power on
c) http://moode, moode.local or IP_ADDRESS
- Access Point (AP) mode
a) Insert WiFi adapter that supports AP mode
b) Power on
c) Join network: SSID = Moode, password = Refer to SECURITY section
d) http://172.24.1.1 or http://moode.local

This makes it appear that the only two network options are Ethernet mode and Access Point mode. From what I have gathered, there is also a (equally useful and desirable) wi-fi mode. It seems that the entire point of using "the Raspberry Pi Imager to prepare the ISO image with SSH, a login userid/password and optional WiFi SSID/password before writing the image to the boot media" (as written on your main website) is that the system will boot up the first time and automatically connect to your defined SSID with the defined password. In this case, Neither Ethernet mode nor Access Point mode will be used.

I recommend making this clearer, because I think many users may assume that their choices are Ethernet or AP. Like the guy in this thread https://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=5302

Seems to me, neither he nor his sister understood that they could have simply connected her moode to wi-fi.

Through all the trials and frustrations of learning to get MoOde humming, it's still my absolute favorite music player. My simple RPi3B+ w/ Topping D10 and a powered USB hub powering a couple of old 500GB hard drives still brings me beautiful music and just floats my boat. Thank you Tom and everyone else who works on MoOde.
