I am about to pull thr trigger on DAC manufactured by DIT Paradise: Monica 2. Its recieved excellent reviews and i am particularly excited as i will be matching it with an D class map manufactured by the same, and one and only Yeo.
My only reservation is that i need to feed the DAC via a PC hookup i.e. USB and not via SPDIF/RCA.
1. Has anyone modded Monica for USB
2. IS their a comparable DAC that is wired for a USB and runs off 12V
Thanks

You could use Jim Hagerman's usb to s/pdif converter: http://hagtech.com/hagusb.html I made one too (http://www.ecp.cc/usb-spdif.html) but my experience with Jim's products is that he probably found some clever way to make it a bit better than the rest of us
Thanks for all the great input... i think i will try the Hag USB. I might have some questions at a later stage... hope you don't mind if i ask dsavitsk. I would be looking to wire it directly to monica in the same chassis
I actually have squeezebox (slimp3) running on another system which feeds a Bel Canto DAC. Fantastic sound. But you know how this hobby is... always looking and hear something else

So long as you don't mind incoherent, apocryphal, and perhaps inappropriate responses

Shouldn't involve any more than leaving out the RCAs on each side and connecting the wires directly.
