Emphasis coding is marked in the subcode of the CD. Interface receivers will recognize it and usually activate a pin that switches for the correct filter.
So you can't see if your playing an emphased CD on a classical CD player?
Take a look at my new D1 I/V stage, mine is unbalanced but you could use two boards for balanced too.

Beside Klaus' design using 2sk389, did anyone make a version of this using CCS ?
I was thinking of something along those lines, using a discrete opamp to give an unbalanced output. I'd need to take care of the dc offset at the output of course. Could be nice after one of those new pcm1794 dac.
Would it be worth to change all those 1.5K rsistors for CCS ?
