A huge groupdelay (or a BR subwoofer) is suffering from being really slow.
But it depends on the application, but for music it's not the right way.
Personally I wouldn't use a AW2000 for 30Hz. It's just not made for it.
The xmax of the woofer isn't that great.
Also try to simulate your subwoofer incl active filters (lowpass and highpass).
A lot of people forget those very important filters.

Ok, I just assumed that with an fs of 30 hz it would be ok.
I guess what bforce tries to say is that 6mm Xmax is less for an 8" than it is for a 12"
For the same SPL a small woofer moves more than a bigger one
For this application the spl's don't need to be huge as the main speakers will use 2 small FR jordan units( in a carbon fibre TL cabinet), the power rating is around 120 watt continuous

The sub(s) may sit underneath and act as the support/stand

You need to run some sims to see how it works, when it runs out of steam, etc

No, that sim is worthless.
It's about the maxspl.
Thats not a sim
its just a standard side that shows when locking on
You need to plot in the specs yourself
It shows max spl at any given power
just plot in the numbers you want to see
theres a menu for FR response, cone excursion, group delay and phase
just click on the menues
nothing fancy, but still a nice and fast tool
and easy to manipulate in custom mode
anyway, max spl is not the important one
not without looking at cone excursion graphs
there you see at which frequency you reach max excursion
no point in reaching max spl and max excursion at 40hz, if you want it down to 25hz
then you need to fiddle with the power rating, to see at which power it reaches max excursion, and thus max spl
this may be at say 50watt, and not at the 120watt rated power, and thus max spl drops
.. not sure how that translates powerwise
its the power rating you select in the driver specs
you can choose any power value below max power rating, and see the result in the cone excursion graphs

I understand now - doh. I was inputting the driver specs ie 300 w etc. So therefor I was exceeding the max cone excursion by some margin...
if I reduce this down to 120 w I will see how it suits my requirements
AW2000 will hit xmax at 90 w in a ported 26 litre cab tuned just below its fs
just for fun i stuck in the tiny 2" jordan jxr6s - they are spiderless so not really suitable for a BR -but they wd reach 60 hz -3 which is pretty impressive... I want to see if a mini tapered TL would work, the pressure of the reverse taper acting as the suspension.
