Hello,
I have a preamp in a seperate enclosure from the power supply.
I've been drawing up the design for the power cable, and got to thinking:
Why not use a small box in the middle of the cable, in which there is an additional active regulator/regulation stage or just some capacitors?
I'd therefore have a regulation stage in the power supply, in the middle of the cable, and in the chassis of the pre-amp.
Supposing proper engineering was done to keep noise out, grounds intact, etc, ** What are the drawbacks?
Thanks,
Aaron Finley
