I'd look at an established kit and proceed by replacing the crossover with an active version.

Has anyone here watched the film Pi? If you have then you may perhaps understand my singlar purpose and this cultural reference...

"I'll restate my assumptions" - MTM driver layout with a front port, HxWxD of 500x180x375 and an active crossover.

I'm not being rude, just bloody minded ;)

Hi,

Well most people here will tell you I'm very bloody minded.
Simple fact is I'm not going to try to tell you your build for you.

I will point you in the right directions and criticise the wrong ones.
But you have to work it out, you have to choose what your building.

Passive Version Of Meridian's M2 - which Model No ??

I am looking for the passive version of Meridian's M2. Thank you very much for an advice.

I've decided to try and build a Meridian M2 active speaker clone. I have the cabinet dimensions and the schematic for the crossover but I need to source the drivers. It originally had KEF units, tweeter was either T52A (SP1049) or T52B (SP1072) and bass/mid was a pair of B110 (SP1057). Do I hang around on fleabay trying to find originals or are there modern alternatives (must be available in the UK) that would work?

1) Tweeter:

And reading the thread after it coming up again, it's a shame in a way that the OP and others thought that the SP1057 of the B110 was going to be expensive on ebay.. Back in 2012 they were going relatively cheap because people were only interested in the earlier B110s. Today they are about £50 each.

bosedtobosed - you do see amp/cross-over boards sold separately and selling for about £100 the pair on ebay. Obviously not that common..
