Are you talking isobarik OB. Could you draw a picture?
It's like Nelson's slot loaded open baffle but with the "wings" folded back. YOu can load 'em with the drivers back to back with connecting members to tie the magnet assemblies together for tight mechanical coupling. I'll post a drawing later when I have some free time.
Just checked that out. Looks good, although bass reflex on bass woofer
Just talkin general shape more than implementatation. basically a modified Phy baffle. I am not sure, but I think that the shape on the back of the FrugalHorn of Dave(Planet 10) affects the response. Also noticed that JohnK's new Audio Note had similar shape at base near woofer section. Could be for looks and I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.
I decided to go with 55-2981 and 55-2982. I could get 2x12 for the price of one 15 so it was a no brainer. Hopefully should see them soon.
The 55-2981 is the main driver in the Hestia build. I can say that after auditioning many 10" drivers in the sub $75 class, this worked the best in my design.
I haven't received them yet, but they look like the bargain of the century
Did you use a promo code when you checked-out? Also, there may be some mechanical noise from the rear of the drivers since they are fairly stiff out of the box. The spiders will loosen-up in a short time and any noise should go away.
