Yes, there may be many options. If of interest to you I use RN60/RN65s paralleled with another resistor called RSX (no longer available - from the hearing aid industry). For rich tonality I might chose a tantalum resistor (partsconnection), for neutral/slightly dark & a sort of rounded sound I might choose Welwyn RC65Y. Some of the more balanced resistors I've heard have been the squaristors from Rhopoint. Not exactly cheap, though ...
