How did it die ?
Hi Ricardo, in fact I have no evidence it's dead!
The player was working fine, I've removed the lid, figured out how to fit the DOS for ever and as I've done custom heatsink for the +/-10 regs and have a spare one I then had the bad idea to try to fit one on the Decoder's analog 317 and therfore pused it and moved it too much. I've borken a track and as I'was trying to play a disc, before I noticed it, it just refused to sing anymore. It should be this... all IC killers around said it's almost certain that' it is that.
It suicided because I torured it!
As I'm sometime optimistic I've added a 5V reg at the HF Amp, noticed that the digital 5V of the Decoder has 2 pins and that my dedicated reg was only feeding the one separated by the 100R. My +/-7.6V regs just need to be soldered, all ready... I'll just have to fit the Lee's one.
I'll do like Simon said... fingers crossed!

While working on the decoder you may as well do the track mod. The diagram and the actual pcb layout are different.
Link pin 44 to pin 15 and cut the track where the X is. The blue shows where the pcb track goes which is bypassing the reg you fitted.

I may get a Marantz CD-40 (LM4562ized by me last year... found it warmer than my CD53 then...) maybe around xmas, maybe it's a bit dangerous to have a CDM4/19 & TDA1541A as a backup player...
In worst case I'll get music then! I'm still praying and sacrificing a chicken every 7 hours to the God Of The Decoder...
