Not being an expert on patent searches, does that apply to "pending" applications as well?

As others have noted, the description on Lovington's website sounds somewhat similar to the approach taken on the Fostex hybrid BR/TL/Horn design for the FE126E - but as many diyer's and bespoke manufacturers will tell you, it's the differences that make their designs special.

In the US it now does, a relatively recent development. Internationally, what is databases are available for search varies.
