Looking for simple power amp schematics.

A 28v-0-28V transformer will only give you no more than about 98 watts into an 8 ohm load and that doesn't not include any losses of voltage drop across the output devices and power supply rectifiers.

However bridged amp configuration will allow you to reach your power level goal using those transformers.

You may want to consider something like a BPA-300 using some LM3886's or even some TDA7293's or TDA7294's.

They have a lot of performance per price value!!!

For anything more into 8 ohms you will need to use a higher supply voltage and should consider a discrete version power amplifier or a design that uses TI's LME49810 or LME49830 and some power output transistors.

Paralleled TDA7293's can get you into that power range providing you use a proper higher voltage supply.
