I feel that 300V is no safer then >1KV, they will kill any careless builder the same :devilr: .... SS at +/-20V should be safe enough... :smash:

At 900++, still be able to get about 100W.

or, a pair of 6146 pentode will put out 100W at 600~700Watt..

When we go >15W, any tube will be consuming considerable amunt of filament power...

Power Efficiency? Definately not in tube's good book.....:bawling:

I disagree. There is certainly no room for carelessness in building any vacuum tube gear and of course a 300v shock can be fatal. However, special materials and techniques are required for higher voltages like >1kv. Things you might 'get away with' at 300v could be disastrous at 1kv.
