Hi
I have a Krell KSA50S and i need convert the 110 to 230 volt.
In tha amp i have a two switch
SW1=1 Open and 2 open
SW2=2? or 1 and it work on 110V 50HZ(in live in europe and i use a big transformer 230>110)
I don't have a SW3
What is the modification for 230V 50HZ please?
Thanks you

I untied the transformer but I cannot open him because he is sealed.
I see on Transformer a label: 2 X input 110 /120 Volts.

And i have four cable not used.

it's good for me?
thanks.

Hi,
if it is wired for 110Vac/120Vac at present then all four primary wires must be connected to the mains input.
two wires to the live (hot) and two wires to the neutral (cold or return).
Can you confirm which colours are connected to the live and which colours to the neutral?

Output boards needed
HI
I'm in the proces to put the Krell KSA50 together soon .I have my pc boards from the GB was design by Pink M , I already stuff them .
My question if some one has a set spare output boards he did't used because he used hard wire ect ,
I would be itrested on them.
I want to double the output board because I will use four or more pair transistor per chanel , to spred the heat better on 15inch tall heatsink .
By the way about the transistor
I have MJL21193/94 4pair or more per chanel plastic case.
MJ15003/04 3pair per chanel metal c
MJL1302A/3281A 3 or 4 pair/chanel plas.case
If anyone can give me advise out of his experience wich power transistors I choose .
Thanks to all of you
regards

Hello all!
I have new pictures!(is not my camera)
My question: How to convert 120 to 220Volt?
http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/6351/p8220629oa9.jpg
Switch. The modification of the position changes nothing.

and

Hi Cor,
let's start with safety.
Use a mains bulb tester in series with the primary to prevent damage to the transformer if it is wired wrongly.
Now lets look at your diagram with the wire volatges on it.
blk-0, gry-100, or 120. and brn-0, vio 100, wtht-120.
Could you remeasure to check I have it right? The bigger rsistance on each winding will be between blk to gry and from brn to vio.
Connect or and brn.
Connect neutral to white.
Connect blk to live.
Insert the plug top into the outlet of the bul tester.
Switch on.

I AndrewT , tahks for your help.
I have found an mistake on my measure.
This is the good measure. :
With voltage tester. (- on voltage meter) to transformer and + voltage tester on Load:
http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/5339/amp2rx1.jpg
And
+ voltage tester to transformer and - voltage transformer to Neutral
http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/663/amp3mp8.jpg
Is it the measure that you asked me?
thanks!!

Hi
ok,just one question:
I connect with a bridge? :
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/8308/bridgele5.jpg
Or I cut and connect? :
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/4687/cutcf5.jpg
I think that it is the second solution. Can you confirm?
thanks!!!

Hi,
first pic will not download, so I do not know what you mean "bridge".
The second pic has lost the coloured wires so I have no clue to what is where.
The "20" label seems to be the wrong one, which suggests that the "0" and "120" labels are swapped.
Do you want to kill your self?

Hi
try again please the links is not broken, I have just tested.
On the second picture ,You have colors abbreviations on PCB.
And similar picture : http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/5339/amp2rx1.jpg
i have connect ,brown(120) to orange(0)
Black(120)to Live(120)
and white(0) to neutral. Is correct?

surely Live(120) is wrong?coronado2048 said:Black(120)to Live(120)

I still can't download that one pic. Maybe it's my end?
I still see wrong voltages being added to pics.
I cannot offer any safe advice while all these conflicts exist.
Yes of course.
I took new measures and new pics:

Do you want that I take other measures?

Hi,
I am still not absolutely sure what's happening here.
But let me try this.
Disconnect from the mains to ensure everybody is safe.
Remove the wires labelled "20" from the connectors.
Measure the resistance from each of the empty connectors to each of the other connectors, call the left set L120, L20, L0.
Measure the resistance from cable L20 to connector L120 and from L20 to L0. do the same for the right hand half.
Tell us what you get .
