heard a BYOB recently that sounded pretty darn good.
However, $1350 us for a chip on spruce board is pretty steep, IMO.
The Altmann BYOB amplifier
Granted, it sounds really good, but it seems that this shouldn't be rocket science or some sort of "marvelous" chip.
These have been out a good while, anybody figure out what chip is being is being used?
Any kit out there that is equivalent and uses 12 V battery supply?
or maybe even something better?
Thanks
Ken

I considered that.
However, hand selected spruce often depreciates more rapidly some other species.
All kidding aside, I tend to think a good bit of the benefit comes from the power supply being a battery. I
I heard one of these a number of years ago when they were much cheaper. Memory dims over the time, but I remember it was so very good that it was surprising.
Would make a killer project if someone has a similar or better chip
