Operating current near the max will cause the least voltage drop across the thermistor. However 1 or 2 volts drop wouldn't affect too much, especially in the case of Class A where current is pretty steady. Sometimes not all models are available locally.

I made the mistake, as the thermistor is a NTC device, parallel configuration is not recommended.
