Most agreeable! It took me a while to try the leds, cause I have been experimenting with the power supply. The two-transistor version shunt was a bit noisy, as gain was quite high. I tried bypassing the 0D3 with 100n which killed most of the noise, but sound-wise it was a no-no. Hence the depicted topology.
I have also acquired a handful of DN2540s so a cascode current source is now in order.
