too few Oracles around for many to consider "modifying" or improving much.
You may try contacting Brooks Berden Ltd , he was/is "famous" for the mods to Oracles. Not sure if he still does them, but may be willing to share some ideas and insight

The alexandria does leave a little bit to be desired in its plinth design. Hence the modifications.
However, I have gotten an email from vinyl addict and ill call him tomorrow. Hopefully we can get something worked out!

I highly recommend checking that bearing, reading on vinyl asylum it seems to be a very common issue on old oracles.
