I need headphone amp. Lehmann?

Hello
I need a headphone amp to run from the take off from my quad 34 preamp.
Has anyone any experience of this h##p://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2017-New-TT650-HiFi-Headphone-Amplifier-Kit-Ref-LEHMANN-Headphone-Amp-DIY.

Yes it is a 405-2.
If I use a divider network on the speaker outputs that would mean the speakers are working. I need them to be silent and the phones on.
The quad 34 has a line level audio out playing whatever the preamp has selected. If the volume control is turned to zero the speakers are quiet. It seems a pity not to use that.

Headphones are usually plugged in to preamp so only line level audio is switched. If I put a switch on the speakers it would have to switch 100 watts rms at 15 ohms is about 3 amps quite a lot.
Apart from the fact that so much fuss is made of speaker cables cant imagine what would be said about a switch effecting quality.

A few thoughts:
You can often get those 'kits' in fully assembled form for not much extra money. If it doesn't work, you can't be blamed for the problem.

I can rationalize buying a 'clone' if 'the real thing' is grossly overpriced, and if the clone doesn't look like a 'forgery'. A Lehmann clone with the Lehmann name and logo on the front panel is something I wouldn't buy.

My personal opinion is that there's a lot more variability between headphones ('quality') than between headphone amps, so you'll probably be satisfied with any amp that will drive your headphones. Some HP amps are cheap enough that they are in the 'play' category.

There are quite a few DIY options as well - are you interested in that sort of project?

so 4 Vpk, 5 ma should give 120 dB SPL

120 dB SPL is literally deafening at minuites per day

but can occur as rare peaks in live music - but which you should only want for seconds in hours of listening to extreme dynamic range music

Those are the ones. Only listen to classical music, something like lute violin. Full orchestra rarely and I am very mean with volume.

Yes definitely, I think I will plump for:

It doesn't have Lehmann on it, is cheap and I have a case and a nice toroid transformer. What I realy wanted was a review from a user and victoriaguy has given that.
