Hello All,
Basically I have my setup as this: The cable tv coax runs into my vcr, which runs into my amp via RCA cables. The problem is this: I get a very loud hum! Its terrible. Anyways, this only occurs when the cable TV is plugged into the vcr. If I disconnect TV, the VCR outputs no hum at all. I was wondering if I should short the cable tv earth or ground to the case of my amp, or if this isn't a good idea. Any help greatly appreciated.
Pete

It gives a good explaination of what causes hum. Look farther down and you'll see Cable TV recommendations etc.
