Actually I prefer IIR filters which are sample accurate and much lighter for the system than what 'usable' FIR filters are.

IIRC, Jonas (EqAPO developer) mentioned on his discussion forum (@sourceforge) that there's tiny delay (10ms) within APO processing.

Regarding convolver in EqAPO, you could register at sourceforge and ask Jonas. If you're familiar with c++ then just look the source code.

The convolver is implemented by the library libHybridConv, which is based on FFT but seems to also use some amount of direct convolution to reduce the latency. The library itself does not cause any latency, at least that is what my measurements showed, the 10 ms latency is caused by the buffer that Windows uses for all APO processing.
