Good idea. Got sidetracked with a friends amp blowing fuses (I actually fixed it!). Will be building a preamp for this SW, using OpAmps, hopefully can use a quad for preamp, tone and limiter...reading the Texas Inst "Op Amps for Everyone". Using germanium diodes or LEDs for better-sounding clipping?
Update! I will be using the 75W amp to power a medium size PA cabinet - make it "powered". Replaced the preamp (and it's narrow freq response) with one (from MCM) that will accommodate XLR mic and line level inputs, and it sounds just fine. Want to be able to EQ it also, to make music sound better and minimize mic feedback. People are throwing away working subwoofers, and they have decent power amps in them...
