If one is tapering the central brace on a tapped horn or folded horn, once you run out of taper...
How will holes in the remaining straight brace section affect the horn? Should the area the brace with holes occupies be counted toward your overall horn cross section in that area of the horn?
Thanks

I always account for the loss in cross sectional area due to bracing. By skeletonizing or putting holes in the braces, you can gain some cross sectional area. It is pretty easy to calculate how much area you’ll gain. While I’ve never used this method to continue an expansion rate, I don’t see a problem with it. Area is area; I don’t think the tapped horn will care. You just need to watch out for any frequency abnormalities that may pop up.
