I have now made a new "version" which i will run at 8mA, (470R=R4=R6 and R3=7.1K) and i will settle with that, since it that will probably be the best way, without adding to much distortion.

Anyway, i have another question.. for R3 i will use 6.8K + 300R resistor to get 7.2K, if i want to lower the gain, wouldn't it be possible to take the signal out between these, instead of right above the valve? with that simulation i get approx +18dB (instead of 22.2dB).

Will there be any negative effect by doing this?
