D3a to 45 sounds soooo good. The datasheet for 45 says plate dissipation is 12W (some say 10W), but I run mine at 12.8W. Usually people run the 45 at 6-7W dissipation which is where the 1.6W figure for 45 comes from.
Nice information . 1.6W is so weak to get something
Looking at 45's plate shape, it is nearly one half of 6b4G or 2A3 which have 15W max. I used to run 2A3 in 17w in longtime, it's ok.
what brand are your 45 tube ? how long have you ran this 45 amp ?
May I see your schema, if you don't bother ?

I have over 30 NOS 45's... I don't know how long they would last at my settings, but I have so many I don't care. 4 months so far on this pair (1930's globes) and still going strong.
I run my RCA 2A3's at 25W plate dissipation driven by 6P45P. I don't know how long these would last, but they sound amazing.
