Interesting idea. I checked the specs, and found that the distortion isn't too bad, but it climbs rapidly as the voltage drops. This is probably due to crossover distortion.

As for using it as a power amp for a sub, you'll need an 8-ohm load, if you want to run in bridge mode, otherwise, you'll current-limit. Unfortunately, many subs are 4-ohm loads.

Finally, Allied Electronics has these in-stock (not in their current catalog), but the price is $40 each. I would expect the power supply section (+/-40v@13A) to cost at least $100 plus heatsinks and chassis. For this price, I think you can do better.
