Well I plan on getting the AE Av15-x subwoofer
http://aespeakers.com/shop/catalog/p...b8047cafc45ff2

I wanted to stick it into a 6.2 cu ft with a 500w O audio plate amp and use its SUBSONIC FILTER of 16hz , I am going to model it after this build:

Heres the amp:O Audio - 500W BASH Subwoofer Amplifier

I was measuring it in winisd and it gives me about 100db at 15hz. Does that look alright. I would post the graph but I don't know how.

I plan on using this for 50/50 movies and music, its only for a small to medium room.

All things considered (driver specs, available power, cab Vb), sealing it up and using EQ to shape it to the room's response seems the best overall solution as long as the EQ unit is optimized for the LF BW. In theory you won't need a hi-pass to protect it either since room acoustics should be able to handle it assuming it's not sitting out in the middle of the room, a big plus for HT apps.

Regardless, sealed or vented it should have the same linear (Xmax) limit at 15 Hz is set by its Xmax assuming there's enough power available to reach it, but the sealed will roll off much slower to a guesstimated ~6 Hz cut-off.
