The hills are alive with the sound of diodes

It seems like some people can find more distortion in a piece of wire than I can in an entire electronic circuit.I am quite skeptical of some of the claims I have seen on this board. In particular the "Sound of a discrete diode" as compared to an encapsulated bridge rectifier...Lets have a more scientific approach to these wild claims. There is no such thing as a Shottky bridge, as far as I have seen. Shottky diodes make the best rectifiers, thus I use discrete diodes :)

I do also use standard bridge rectifiers, depending on how I want to construct the PSU. If the whole PSU is to be PCB mounted then discrete diodes are easier, whereas bridge rectifiers are easier if everything is to be bolted to the case.
